How much does it cost to hire an n8n developer?
Freelance n8n developers typically charge $20 to $60 per hour (around $35/hour median), and project quotes run from about $500 for something simple to $10,000+ for complex builds, usually with no fixed scope. Do I need n8n Cloud or a self-hosted server, and which is cheaper?
Both work, and we set up either. n8n Cloud is the simplest at around $20/month and is cheaper if you only run a few workflows and a few hundred executions. A self-hosted instance on a VPS costs roughly $5 to $20/month and becomes far cheaper once you scale past a few thousand executions, and your data stays on your own server. We recommend the right fit for your volume during the kick-off call.
Is n8n better than Zapier or Make?
For serious volume, usually yes.
